Climbers of Ohio, Rejoice, because the ground is officially broken on the most groundbreaking development in the Columbus climbing scene since January 1994 when Vertical Adventures first opened.

When open this fall, VA513 will have 44′ tall walls, with a maximum route length of 63′ on the massively overhanging lead wall. Tucked into the 15,000 square feet of Walltopia walls (These are the guys who built Sender One, Climb So-Ill, and Earth Treks-Golden, so they know how to build wall…) are 2,700 sq ft of bouldering, divided into two areas: on the main floor is 650 sq ft of easier bouldering, then there is the mezzanine–3000 sq ft of floor, 2000 sq ft of hard bouldering with walls ranging from vert to 50 degrees set V3 or harder, hang boards, and nothing else to distract you.

VA513 will also offer an expanded workout area, locker rooms. Designated party area. Expanded retail offerings, including the largest selection of shoe models and sizes in Ohio.

How serious are we about this? Serious enough for the mezzanine to have its own A/C system. Serious enough to spend 3 hours choosing the toilets. Serious enough to spend 2 years planning. Serious enough to partner with the best wall builders in the world.

How hard is it to build the gym that Central Ohio deserves? About 5.13 hard.

VA513, 6513 Kingsmill Ct, Columbus, OH. Coming this Fall.
